A tiny bud can turn into a whole tree or a beautiful garden.
Buds in plants are a remarkable miracle of nature. They not only mark the plant's growth, but also mark the beginning of new life and the foundation for future flowers or leaves. Scientifically, a bud is an incomplete or shrunken shoot that has the potential to become a twig, leaf, or flower: from which grow leaves and new shoots that bear beautiful and fragrant flowers.
Buds are often covered by a tough outer layer called scales. These scales protect the delicate inner tissue from extreme cold, heat, insects, and lack of water. When good weather (such as spring) arrives, these buds become active and gradually begin to bloom.
The importance of buds in plant life goes beyond mere aesthetics: flower buds are the first stage in the seed formation process, which is essential for propagation of the species. It is through buds that the plant increases its height and spreads its branches.
