Using a circular power saw, I will show you a quick and easy way to notch out a 100x100mm pergola post.

In my opinion this is the fastest way to do it. Forget the hand tools and sore wrists from cutting for hours on end.

Always adjust your blade depth before cutting.

To set the blade, determine the required depth by unplugging the saw and holding it against the timber with the blade guard retracted. Use a scrap piece of timber first to make sure that you have the correct depth.

Once the blade is set to the desired depth, start cutting as shown in my video below:
