Airbnb Still Hopeful About China Despite Earlier Misstep

Airbnb co-founder and chief strategy officer Nathan Blecharczyk thinks the outbound Chinese travel market, where it might have an advantage over home-grown rival Tujia, is finally starting to pay off.

After three or four years of operating in China, and with approximately 100 employees in the country, Blecharczyk said Chinese travelers who are taking advantage of Airbnb’s substantial inventory outside of the country are finally returning to China, and choosing to stay at Airbnb properties when they do. Blecharczyk said Airbnb currently has 100,000 apartments and homes inside China.

Airbnb Expands Tours and Experiences to New York City By Enlisting Celebrities

Airbnb is launching local tours and other experiences in New York City this week with a special host.

Her listing promises an “unforgettable shoe-shopping experience” and her bio describes her as an “actor, producer, businesswoman” and “proud New Yorker.”

She’s Sarah Jessica Parker of ‘Sex and the City’ fame and she’ll be taking four guests shoe-shopping at Bloomingdale’s, then sending them to the ballet.

Vacation Rental Managers and Owners: What is Your Brand Worth?

The above question was asked to several veteran managers this week at a meeting I attended. It is an uncomfortable question, one that produces much thought, emotions and there is only one answer.

The actions of the past two months have been telegraphed for years. HomeAway has been very transparent in their plans and now they are executing. The results have been anger on the part of the owner/managers and confusion on the traveler side. There is no longer any transparency to the vacation rental traveler when it comes to your brand.

i have tour travel, is it okay if i write a post about that bussiness? is it okay to sell the package in steemit?

I had a positive experience with HomeAway a few years ago. I used it two times....it was great. I did my homework and had a very positive and clean experience.

I wouldn't use Airbnb however.

To be honest, I would probably not rent from someone I didn't know next time. There have been too many news reports about bad deals and poor accommodations, with no accountability. I'd pay the extra and stay in a hotel when I could get a discount of some sort.

I agree. Not all apples in the basket are bad. There's just a few of them. In the same way, there are hosts and guests we can't fully trust.

True re the guests. I know! Some people misbehave when on vacation. I would think they'd treat their home away from home with some respect.

It's a crap shoot sometimes, unless you get a referral for a host.

Thanks. Very informative indeed

wow really?? it very helpfull to me someday i went to vacation :)
