I was worried at the start of the week that the long weekend would cost me days lost as staff aren't thinking on work related issues and are already on holiday in their heads. I had a list of things that needed to get done and to be honest that list has stayed in the car and hasn't really been touched. You can plan a week of things to do,but it can change as other things just happen. I have no problem with this as long as they are good things and you are growing.

Two days,two new accounts and still waiting on news regarding the warehouse. It is a little frustrating to say the least as the small print will dictate if we will take it or not.We have adjusted some of the conditions and deposits and will wait for their response. We worked out that the owners would have the equivalent of 6 months in advance before we even moved in. That one month free rent is obviously built in to their calculations and isn't really free.

I am glad of other companies letting others down by greed and poor business practices as it opened 2 doors for me.The companies are next door to each other and obviously had the same supplier as they use the identical product and had the same issues.

A biscuit factory phoned on Monday and we supplied immediately by using my wholesaler.This guy informed me that the last supplier is history as they realised the weights of the rolls were different and were paying for material that wasn't there. This is a common practice by some crooked and greedy companies by hoping you don't check and supply you with a roll of 320 meters instead of 400 meters. They make an extra 20 percent and it may take months or years before they are found out.Luckily they were found out and it should be obvious if you are hands on.It suggests that they were short changed from the start otherwise you would notice you are ordering more than usual.

We are above board and welcome spot checks as it shows our open book policy and our integrity.Next door was a disposable nappy manufacturer and I just thought let me try whilst I am here. They had the same issue from the same supplier so I think they have spoken amongst themselves and it was fortunate timing on my part. I have given both of them the formula to work out the weights and just like that I have two new customers. Gaining their trust after being ripped off will stop others from trying to pinch the account from me further down the line. This is simple stuff and no rocket science, but more about just being honest and open.

I would love to say it is my charming personality and my stunning good looks, but this is business and money rules the roost.I will offer them savings on what they were currently paying and gladly take the benefits. It has some spin offs as well as the nappy guys have a sweet factory as well which I will include as part of the deal.Two becomes three and maybe more through word of mouth.

There is no room for cheating in business as at some point you will be found out and lose whatever you had. I have no idea how they think as unless you change your name often the market is only so big.I suppose if you are making an extra 20 or 30 percent from corrupt practices and paying someone in the company then your secret is safe for the time being. The scale never lies though and I will always give the formula to check the weights for prospective customers to double check. I think the market is flooded with crooked goings on and I welcome it as I will sail right through the middle.

The one big company makes customers sign an agreement and weighing of items is not allowed as it is stipulated.This should raise red flags as what are they up to.As soon as I heard this I knew there was something very shady going on. It looks like I have entered a gangster industry with huge profits which needs cleaning up. This is going to be fun.
