Are MLM Health Companies Worth It?

MLM has a pretty bad reputation, and if we are honest, it’s one that’s not entirely undeserved. There are some rotten apples in every barrel, and when those rotten apples are cheating people of their health and their wealth, the damage to the greater industry can be devastating.

That’s not to say that there are no genuine opportunities for an honest marketer who wants to sell good products that help people. MLM is dominated by women, with around 20m people (15m of who are women) working as consultants for the varying companies.

It’s the perfect work from home opportunity for many, but you should do your due diligence first, and when it comes to health, the most important thing you should look at is the ingredients used in the products.

It’s also about knowing what some of the code words are; while the FDA does everything it can to crack down on bad apples, consumers and potential consultants need to understand what they are selling and taking. As a general rule of thumb, you need to be looking for transparency.

Without transparency into what the products are, how they work, and full disclosures, you should be backing off and fast. It’s the difference between saying “made using organic farming methods” and “USDA organic”. One is regulated, the other not.

Another thing to look for is genuine reviews of the products: do they contain things like carcinogens, nanoparticles or endocrine-disrupting chemicals? Knowing what the products contains means that you can trust that you are offering something good that helps people – or potentially making them sick.

MLM companies are worth it, but you absolutely need to do your due diligence first. This is a vibrant industry and one that can make you very wealthy if you pick the right opportunity and treat it like a full-time job. If you can’t make this commitment, then my recommendation would be to reconsider what you want to do – it will save a lot of time, money, and heartache for both you and your future customers.
