How To Get Published On Wikipedia [Part 3]
Now you have done the research, got a noteworthy Wikipedia article and made sure everything is in A1 condition for a final submission, there is just one thing left to take care of – and yes, it’s those editors again.
It may seem like the editors are constantly throwing up roadblocks to make it seem difficult for you to simply get published, and while that can be annoying in an era when it’s so easy to do so just about anywhere else, remember that all your competitors have the same issue… but not necessarily your determination.
What this means for you is a high-quality submission that puts you ahead of the pack. So, go ahead, disclose who you are. It’s not a secret that businesses want to be in Wikipedia, and as it turns out, you’re more likely to get in trouble if you don’t disclose openly and honestly who you are.
Just create an account that’s honest, be upfront about who you are, and then submit it for review rather than try to publish yourself. Now, this can take a few weeks, and more often than not those pesky editors will come back with suggested changes (a good thing, as it means your draft isn’t going straight in the trash!) – just deal with it.
It may feel like they’re just making this hard for you, but they do this with everyone. Wikipedia has even acknowledged that the process could be more user-friendly, but as of right now, this is the best way to go about it.
Good luck – if you have followed this guide, you should have a strong article that is very likely to get into this fantastic page one booster!
