The contrarian

in #busy6 years ago (edited)

When reading tweets and articles on Steemit and even watching "old and salted" crypto youtubers, lately, I don't get any sentiment of confidence from their views on the recovering of the crypto markets and they may be entitled. What do I know, I have always traded on feelings and not based on any chart readings, trading logic and other related knowledge so I am "not entitled" at all, but I make some correlations some times. Especially with feelings, hype and sentiments.

Regarding such feelings I remember when I bought my dumbest and worst trade ever. The one with NXT which I talked about a couple of times in some of my previous posts. On the 28th of December it had a hard fork resulting in some coin named IGNIS and before that date the price of it was not only pumped by the billions flooding the market with its every coin, but by this hard for also and the people trusting their "good investment" in NXT at that time.

I even remember talking with a friend about "the deal" and he was telling me that we will never see NXT at $2 again and he was not referring at a cheaper price of course. It lasted only about 24 hours after I bought these God damn coins and then it started plunging, as the whole market did, but of course I couldn't believe the reality nhore the fact that the over hyped IGNIS that I got after the hard fork is going to be priced at a much lower price than on pre-sells resulting in an absolute painful trade. So, I guess he was right...we will never see NXT at $2 again, as it is trading at about 6 cents currently. Are we?

The same feeling of certainty I sense now with the crypto markets also, but for the opposite direction. Now it's almost everything about the market dipping even further, many speak about many altcoins never seeing their previous ATHs again and so on. A sort of certainty, but a pessimistic one hovers these days also over the crypto market. However, the passion within it is considerably similar, in my opinion, with the one experienced in December, especially in my case with NXT. People are passionate again about their predictions, it's just they're not bullish at all.

It makes me think though, what if the market will act again the same it did back in December, what if it's going to disappoint us again and get in the opposite direction, which of course wouldn't be a bearish one at all, considering that the overall sentiment is bearish. I've heard many times about contrarians and that it is advised to be a contrarian in such markets in order to profit from them and that makes me think that we might be a step away from a next bull run. Or not...

At the same time I am thinking that I should think as a contrarian and see the market from one's perspective expecting the opposite of what the herd feels. What do I have to loose?

Thanks for your attention,
Ace
