Im sorry if this post is a bit short, my initial post was over 1000 words long, only for busy.org to cut it all.

Either way, the bane of the matter is this.

There is massive amount of manipulation going on in the crypto space, it pains me when I see the guardians, custodians and influencers of crypto, who are supposed to be promoting crypto in a good light, engage in nefarious activities.

A post by a steemian named @cryptomedication revealed what appears to be major crypto investors and influencers engaging in or attempting to engage in manipulation of coins.

The above screenshot is taken from his post which you can visit here.

Another screenshot below shows the level of professionalism which these players use in their manipulation game.

But can we blame them?
It is a fact that whatever can be abused or is given a chance to be abused, would be abused judiciously and to the maximum limit by humans.

The saying
give an inch, and he/she takes a mile

Is highly accurate. Only a strong willed and careing individual would resist the temptation to grab it all for him/herself.

From my own understanding, intelligent and real successful people tend to focus on the right things, rather than manipulate or scam their way to the top.

Of cause no man is a saint, we are humans and therefore have the tendency to err, but when you consider that these manipulations have the possible effect of costing many millions, you have to ask

Does getting a quick buck justify the actions to steal?

kill greed with semi decentralized systems.

Now I dont have enough information yet to make a concrete claim, I am still reading up, but to my understanding, one ha s to choose where to stand between decentralization and efficiency.

A completely decentralized system means no one is in control, or rather, those with the highest stakes are in control, cause as we have already known, humans tend to be oppressive, aggressive, fame/wealth hungry individuals.

A semi decentralized system, such as bitshares, steem and eventually EOS, is capable of having a central authority, that does not interfere wi th the dealings of the system.

The concept is basically that the community makes up the system. If the community goes, the system/coin fails, but at tue same time, the central body holds enough power to counteract bad characters, manipulation tendencies, scammers and spammers.

This can be done either by employing individuals which do that full time, or bearing the full weight of their power on these bad eggs.

But who knows,

One thing is however certain, in crypto, there is a lot of manipulation, inside trading, which not only hurts those directly involved but on the opposite side, but it also hurts the crypto space.

Investors see this and claim the market is too unstable.

People become scared to invest cause of dump groups.

We need regulations in crypto, regulations that protect the masses.

Thanks.

It is really saddening to see those that are supposed to be custodians and believers of this great movement do things that favor only them. Many of them ignore those who have little or negligible stake.

But all being said, there are still the very good and compassionate ones amongst them. We just need to keep spreading the right information and sooner or later, we will reduce this act.

Cryptocurrency has come to stay. Decentralization and good governance is what we need.

Indeed it has! Best bet is to spread the message to all, and grow those little ones you can.

What can I say bro, when people tend to be custodians, they tend to experiment with the natural order and when they do, they compromise the system and abuse it because of greed, it's bad, very bad for crypto

My brother Ken Akure told me this recently. I'm not surprised at all. In every space, there'll always be peeps that are out to pervert it to suit their interest you know?
Truth be told, the holders of these coins control the market.

Truth is people will always be people, greedy and power drunk.. Even if this is a decentralized system, we need regulators, thats the only way crypto will be truly decentralized.

Same news when SBD went down $1.7 it was claimed that the manipulation was done by some top witnesses for their personal gain. Reason Man is referred to as a Social animal, using others for his personal gain.

Then it leads to one question "Is this decentralization?" I am still learning, only time will tell

Decentralization has its cons, primarily, it allows those with large stakes in the system, to run it as they see fit, without the worry of getting caught or persecuted.
