BECAUSE OF YOU (THREE)

We are social beings so we cannot but offend one another. Some people wish they had not met you, you may also feel the same way about other people. Some people might have fallen by doing what they should not have done because of you. It is equally possible that because of the influence of a supposed friend, you acted contrary to your beliefs and convictions. Today, I will like to share with you on how you can amend the wrong that you have caused. Truthfully, your actions cannot be reversed and some scars will not disappear but I believe there is a path in the right direction that should be taken. Some could have been hurt, displaced, disorganized, displeased, damaged, perplexed, confused, disoriented as a result of your influence. If you find this to be true, should you then fold your arms believing that time will heal? NO! I believe you should be intentional about restoration. Though not all cases can be restored (take for instance someone that was deflowered against her wish by you) but I believe the issue should be addressed with the intent of making the present and future better and desirable. How then can this be done?

Firstly, ask God the father of us all to forgive you. The primary person you offend in your relationship with others is God-the creator. If you confess, He will forgive (1John 1:9). Secondly, allow God’s word to have free course in you such that you will forgive yourself. Some have committed worse acts/murder because they find it hard to forgive themselves. Never give in to the voice of condemnation from the devil. If you genuinely turn to God, he will accept you and not cast you away (John 6:37. Romans 8:1).

Thirdly, seek forgiveness from the party(s) you've offended. This means that you have to own up to your faults. The devil could have been the instigator but it’s obvious you are the actor. So, desist from the blame trade. Several consequences might emanate from owning up to your faults or misdeeds so I advise that you take such steps with wisdom and counsel (Proverbs 11:14).
You could have been the one offended. I admonish therefore, that you allow God’s word to minister to you and forgive others through the help of the Holy Spirit.
