Dear doomy,
I have not the foggiest as to what you’re referring about and how decent your sources are. A quick look at those links were just frustrating, with people yapping away and no real evidence. As someone who has travelled to the US and the UK, I can tell you we are way more relaxed in our interaction than both countries. ;)
I’ve noticed there’s a lot of baggery by people of other countries, often by people who don’t even live here or have even visited. Then I read of American experiences of how truly difficult it is there on so many fronts. I didn’t see any legitmate sources and I’ve never considered ‘Sky News’ to be my source of truth for much. Even the presenters come across as unimpressive to me and I couldn’t watch long.
It’s been a long time now, but Universities and even our workplaces try to implement a lot of safety and anti-bullying measures. But it all comes down to common sense and what is actually enforceable. I find all this rather dubious, but I’m not some one who believes everything I read. We’re taught that in school, so there’s that.
So my thoughts are, there are bigger problems that should concern you in your own backyard than the perceived war on sarcasm in Australian Universities..😛😛😛

It seems you fell into the trap of taking me too seriously.
:)
Well, I I thought you wanted a response. lol But more so you touched on a trigger and those links you referred to were that annoying. One thing I’ve noticed is many Americans have a warped idea of Australia. They ask me if I have a pet kangaroo and mean it! 🙄 When I lived there for a time, some were surprised that there were orientals in Australia...🙄🙄 And I don’t want to start on the Terrorism discussion and how multiculturalism must be failing. Because every time we have a crazy person lose it, our whole system has failed us! It’s ridiculous.
So I had to also assume you might fall into that camp and subconsciously having a bitch about our country. I’ve been on too many forums where Americans still claim they are the greatest country and the leaders of the free world. And don’t get me wrong, I love Americans, but it’s kinda vomit-inducing. Especially, when everytime you turn on the news you’re reminded by the hatred, the divisiveness and how much things need fixing. It’s mind boggling that Americans would even care to criticise Australia. As I said, you would have more important things to provide commentary on...
I am all to aware of Americans short comings and I write about them often. Making fun of American stupidity is one of my favorite pass times. I mean they are having a flat earth conference in Denver, 15% of the population thinks you get chocolate milk from brown cows, and that is just todays news. I am deaply saddened to hear that I can't ask you for a baby kangaroo though.
Maybe that explains why Cadbury milk chocolate tastes so bad in America!! I binned them after discovering they didn’t use enough milk like they did for their Australian version. It tasted awful! I survived on Lindt chocolate while I was there. So maybe there just wasn’t enough brown cows to make milk for drinking AND chocolate. Too much focus being put into researching pink cows for real strawberry milk I suppose...
I’m afraid I can’t give you a joey too. I was shocked to discover we can have them as an exotic pet in Victoria (the only state that can), but it’s not at all common. They’re a wild animal that need a lot of space...But if you insist on an Aussie animal pet, I can look into exporting you a possum. Would you like just one? Or can I try to send you over a few dozen? I’m at war with them but it’s illegal to kill possums. They piss and shit all over our car, so that might be a deal breaker for you...
