When I start to write, I don't have any plan at all. I just wait for the story to come

I'm not intelligent. I'm not arrogant. I'm just like the people who read my books. I used to have a jazz club, and I made the cocktails and I made the sandwiches. I didn't want to become a writer - it just happened

Young people these days don't trust anything at all. They want to be free

It's physical. If you keep on writing for three years, every day, you should be strong. Of course you have to be strong mentally, also. But in the first place you have to be strong physically. That is a very important thing. Physically and mentally you have to be strong

There's no such thing as perfect writing, just like there's no such thing as perfect despair

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets

The most important thing we learn at school is the fact that the most important things can’t be learned at school

In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount

No matter how far you travel, you can never get away from yourself

If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking

Spend your money on the things money can buy. Spend your time on the things money can’t buy

Me, I’ve seen 45 years, and I’ve only figured out one thing. That’s this: if a person would just make the effort, there’s something to be learned from everything. From even the most ordinary, commonplace things, there’s always something you can learn. I read somewhere that they said there’s even different philosophies in razors. Fact is, if it weren’t for that, nobody’d survive

What happens when people open their hearts? They get better

Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting

I read but not with the names just read, don't know when it will going to stop and in next moment where and which content i will reach. No matter what, for whole life i followed my heart and had tough Journeys but never regretted.

Literally speaking you've said in this post everything, spend time on something money can't buy, easy to read but real an deep subject to understand and to find, and many are failed and joined the RAT RACE.

And yes, most of the the people really limit themselves and think that they know nothing, but the reality is initially we really over grade us and this will going to lead us towards the point of negativity because, when we over grade then without understanding and learning attempt everything and attain fail and inturn judge ourselves as failure. Learn learn learn and never limit yourself or those aspects which are around you.

Keep writing these kind of motivating and true lines because when we get the practical motivation instead of imaginative motivation we can get touched easily and with effectively.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

Stay blessed. 🙂

Thank you so much for the consideration, following either way.

Did not know about this author. Thanks for introducing him to me.
I don't think i have a REAL favorite book. In grad school i had to read more than i had ever done in 23 years to catch up with American students. That made me read a lot and fast of a great variety of canonical writers (both American and British), but i could not develop an absolute affinity with one in particular, let alone with one single book.
There are books i cannot forget (One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Gracia Marquez) and books that i love to teach for particular academic purposes (The Giver, by Lois Lowry; Old Man and the Sea, by Hemingway) and books that have fascinated me and that i hope to be able to re-read many times (Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder).
Murakami sounds interesting. That opening quote speaks to me in very intimate way. I'll definitely check him out.
I love this piece of wisdom:

The most important thing we learn at school is the fact that the most important things can’t be learned at school.

I remember once at a bar in Athens, Oh. (i had been in the State for about a week) a friend of mine from Venezuela, who was finishing his PhD in Math and who learned some basic English before he went to Grad School (in his 40s), saved me from some embarrassment with a guy who was really drunk and thought that Colombia and Venezuela was the same thing and coming from either country meant you carried drugs with you. I could not understand much of what the guy was saying (and i had been an English teacher for 4 years).
This friend of mine told me he learned all his English in bars; streets smarts, he said, that's what you need.
