Week 9: #introduceyourself Curation Post

I was back to the curation effort this week after focusing on reviews the previous week and I have to admit that while I have seen more activity of new users coming to the community, it continues to be difficult to find those that seem as if they would have potential in the future. I may be setting my standards high but I think it should be that way if we want an ecosystem that engages and retains people over an extended period of time. I try to be mindful of the lack of education when one enters as I look back at my first post and I might have not thought the same for me at that time either. However, I think it demonstrates the need for communities to set expectations as they onboard new users on the platform. A better tutorial must be given in order to improve these feeds as we continue to grow and evolve.

@chamogutierrez is a medical school student who has started to look at cryptocurrency as a great option for the country he is from as the inflation rate has made fiat devalue. As he learns more about digital currencies, he also wants to share his knowledge on the platform regarding nutrition and overall life experiences.

@hillaryyrc is a young student that enjoys photography and modeling as well as her time on social media which brought her to Steemit. She intends to share her experiences in the photography and fashion world here in on STEEM.

@vitaadventure is a young couple that have moved to Europe for work and have taken advantage of the relocation to travel around the world using travel hacks to accumulate great experiences on the way. They intend to share they travel with STEEM community and provide advice on traveling and avoid common pitfalls tourist typically make when visiting.

@schanzerx is a former social worker now going back to college to get a degree in administration that want to share his passion for coaching football and photography with the #STEEM community. He also has an Instagram following which is why I wanted to highlight him as those that have followers external to #Steemit could potential lead users here if given a good on boarding experience.

I am monitoring very closely the efforts of many communities that are welcoming new users through the new account creation feature as they could need the help of the community to also support the onboarding of these new users. This is particularly important given the limited bandwidth they may have given the new resource credit system that Hard Fork 20 implemented. This is why I updated my comment for these curation posts to the following:

The comment is becoming somewhat long so I probably need to adjust it slightly to not lose the new users attention completely. I am also considering to writing a post myself made to serve the needs of new users that are onboarding on the platform.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
