The Wall Street Journal quoted directors of Cambridge Analytica Consulting as saying that the group and its subsidiary would be shut down.
Cambridge Analytica is at the heart of Facebook's privacy scandal this year after the consulting firm disclosed data to millions of users on the social network illegally.
The company has yet to respond to a request for comment.
