That's definitely our hope. In a way, the benefit of participating in this can be three-fold.
1: You of course have a chance to win one of the prizes.
2:You have a chance of creating a profit generating use case, that will be of interest to the other Steem users, when their 8,500 GBYTEs are released 11 months from now.
3: The more use cases there is, the better the chance of your own locked bytes will appreciate.
