FLOWER ROOM UPDATE #23

in #cannabis7 years ago (edited)

Hi steemians! Not much going on lately very interesting in my grow, so I’ve been un inspired to do a post. But the longer you go with out posting the more un inspired you will get to try to do a quality post. Or at least that’s my case. So let’s take a look at my 3x4 closet. Aplying only 4ml cal/mag per gallon of RO water in fox farm ocean mixed with happy frog......

Those three are of the tahoo og x og at 36 days. Still coming along nice! I found an old pic of the same strain around the same stage of flower so you can see how much of an improvement i have made...

Just to think up to now that plant was considered good to me!

Those two are Kandy kush at 26 days. I don’t have a past pic of this strain at this stage but in a future post I’ll do another comparison of how sad this plant looked in the past.

Santa Rita #3 also at 12 days showing some pistals.

I’m hoping my Santa Rita male starts production of pollen in the next couple weeks so i can pollinate a couple branches of the Santa Rita females! If things go accordingly i will do a seed giveaway of the first ever steem og!!!! Hopefully i can get these in the hands of my fellow steemians to grow out and who knows maybe somebody can stabilize the genetics and mass produce steem og seeds!! Wouldn’t it be cool?

Stay tuned and remember to stay positive and don’t be a dick!

Steem on!

I love the improvement 👍 the ro water just doesn’t cut it on it’s own. Even my house plants look a lot happier with a little cal mag. Funny bc I started taking magnesium supplements for my body a week before my plants 💪

Thanks man! I might have to start taking a magnesium supplement too after seeing what it can do!!! Haha

We can learn a lot about health from our plants. When our own minerals are balanced properly our hormones are a lot more balanced & the body just works better

You're getting better and better, man!
If you pollinate a few branches, will the other branches remain as they would have, ie large buds with no seeds? Sorry, I'm new to this part.

Never apologize bro. I’m new too. And we are all friends in my book! So what you can do if you have a male plant is shake some pollen into a container, then get a q-tip and rub the pollen onto the white pistals on the female. After you do that you put a ziplock baggie over the area you pollinated for 48 hours, so that way the whole crop don’t get seeded. I hear there’s enough pollen in one male flower to seed an entire crop!

That makes sense, because tehre's enough pollen in one of me, to seed an entire harem!
Not that I would, of course, I'm just pointing it out.
Gotta love plants.
Thank you for the info. I didn't realize you can choose which parts of a plant to pollinate and which not to. I suppose it's good to mark where you've pollinated, so you harvest from those flowers separately? Keep on growing :)

Last time i put a red zip tie on the pollinated branch. Yeah plants are cool as hell man! We got this plant at my job called a Jade plant, and when the tips of the plant fall off the root, and its almost like there walking away from the main plant! I think its a succulent of some kind.

Nice, jade plants are traditional gifts because they make good house plants and don't require much care. Just water very occasionally and let dry out between. Succulents are beautiful and underrated plants imo, some have medicinal uses, and can be used in pots, or in beds as ground cover. You can bonsai jade plants even if you haven't bonsaied before. Like you mentioned, any part of a jade plant can grow a new plant, they love to propagate :D
I will use the red zip tie method when I get to pollinating. I think that might be next summer.
The pink kush girls are happy. Almost ready for transplant into their final large pots.

Yeah last time i saw them your girls looked great! And I’ve heard jade plants are toxic, is that true?

You must have an exellent job!

Never tried Tahoo OG or Kandy Kush. They look really good though. Enjoy! Stay toasty my friend!

This tahoo is back crossed with og, and it really stands out as you can see how the bud structure is. OG produces those popcorn nugs. Its a little earthy and ranks of limenol and pineine. I really love it. The kandy kush reminds be of jack herera on steroids! Almost smells like a pine skunk, with burnt rubber tire, it probably is the best smelling bud ive had in my whole 20 years of smoking herb!

Wow. Here in NY you just get names and do not really know what you get unless you get sealed up and marked medical packaging. I have heard of Jack Herer and I do get a lot of those popcorn nugs you speak of here in NY! Cheers, stay toasty my friend!

Yeah alot of times names can be made up, like my kandy kush, im not even sure if its the real kandy kush. But as long as its fire who cares right? lol

Yeah haha! I always say to my friends all the time as long as its good you can call it what ever you want lmao!

Have you ever considered mixing Botanicare's Liquid Karma into your nutrient solution? It does wonders for our ladies!

I do use botanicares cal/mag plus so maybe I’ll consider it. I really have been wanting to try no till but the ways things been going lately I’m not so sure I’m ready to switch things up that drastically yet.

We use all Botanicare products because they are 99.5% organic and 0.5% natural (natural being non-carbon based but still found in nature). & if you mean growing outside without tilling the soil, I have seen people try that, but ultimately the dirt usually ends up being too hard for the roots to get proper growth without tilling to loosen the soil. The roots will usually grow into the path of least resistance and least competition, so if there is too much resistance, there will only be minimal growth. We also mix earth worm castings in with our soil when we plant for many beneficial reasons.

Yeah i do got to find something. That roots organics i was using tested at a ph of 4! I had to use like 3 tbs of ph up to get it to a six! This was just recently that I got a ph test kit. So after doing the ph up to it once i was like fuck that and discontinued using it and my results have been spectacular!

Hey just wanted to let you know the wings landed today. Now I gotta to think of a decent post. Thanks again man!

Sweet! Looking forward to reading it and seeing where you keep your wings!

Im glad you made the post. Your plants are looking nice man keep up the good work. Did you just get your RO system? Just wondering

I go to one of the water stores to get my water. Since I’m right in the middle of ag central I’m really wary of my tap water.

Hell yeah! Getting big! Love it man keep growing! More people with great herb... The better!

I think steem is really green now!!! Haha thanks man

Dear Sir @jonyoudyer, First of all, thanks for posting so beautiful, Sir @jonyoudyer , photography is an art. We know that the demand for photography in this world is increasing, basically a photographer said a natural scene and said beauty of one man beautifully through photography, we all like beautiful pictures,
Seeing your picture, you might expect a photographer in the future to look at the beauty of nature and learn about nature, in one word it will make you aware of the whole world.
I hope you are in your work.

Why thank you for your kind words! Believe I’m very much immersed in my work i got going on. It keeps me out of trouble 😉

Great update and I like the soil mix you're using. The ladies look lovely!

Thank you! Yeah its great soil, in the past I was using roots organics fertilizer and that stuff was causing severe lockout. Lesson learned, and it really is nice to see improvement. Thanks for stopping by!

Nothing but growth from here ♡ Nice job dude. Your wings are flying home to you finally and I cannot wait for you to get them. It makes my heart so happy that they went someone as well-deserving as you. Blessings ♡

Awe! Thank you for your kind words. Im pretty stoked to get them. I defiantly will cherish them the rest of my life.

Wow!! These beauties are really striving. It must be really neat to grow your own plants and get to enjoy them grow and then get high. I hope you get some seeds. I think I read in one of your last postings that you hadn’t had to buy herb in awhile. That must be really pleasant!

Yeah it is nice! I hope i get some seeds too cause it will be cool to spread them out in the steem world

Maybe you can get some seeds bro if things go good. Im not sure what im going to do, but im going to either do a contest to give away seeds, or im going to give some to whoever ask and ill just need a couple steem dollars to pay for shipping, all depending what steem is worth then of course. but will see just stay tuned and keep steeming!

Nice. I don’t have a backyard or could grow some myself, but my brother could try to grow again. He tried to grow a few plants awhile back from seed and they didn’t do too well. He wasn’t really sure what kind they were and they just looked really weak and small. They never really looked healthy. He also doesn’t know what he’s doing half the time, so I wasn’t surprised. lol

High! Dam ive been out in the nice Norwiegen weather and not on here..
That will be fun to self pollinate!
Actually the first indoor plant i ever had was a seed from west africa, and i grew it (somehow) under a security light !
It was male and so i put sandwich bags (plastic) over the braches and shook it to collect the pollen and put it in the freezer. then a few months later a mate brought a powerplant female round my place and so we then put the bag from the freezer over the branch of the female power plant to create a new strain.
They were the good old dyas of not enough time to scratch my arse let alone grow a plant properly!
