Road to Dope Cup 2018; Washington // Pt 1.

#DopeMagazine is a cannabis lifestyle publication whose content is geared towards the education, normalization, and legalization of cannabis.
Since their inaugural issue in 2011, Dope Magazine has been using their wide-reaching platform to shed light on a multitude of cultural and social issues involving cannabis, race, gender, politics, and the like.

They also have a pretty bad-ass cannabis competition... A.K.A : DOPE CUP

Every year, in many of the recreational and medically legal states, Dope Magazine hosts a competition where the objective is really quite simple: have the best cannabis/cannabis product. The categories range from best topical and tincture to best edible and flower, and beyond!

This year in Washington State the Dope Cup will be hosted in April, historically close to our 4/20 holiday.

With my newly found penchant for making dry sift and rosin, I've been tasked with quite a squishy task indeed... to make the rosin that will SWEEP the 'Best Rosin' category!

I invite you to follow along as I document my adventure from n00b-squishling to l33t-squishmaster with award-winning rosin!

Here she is!
Cookies & Cream, bred by Exotic Genetix, is a cross of Mystery Cookies and StarfighterF2. This balanced hybrid touts a sweet vanilla dough aroma; I like comparing the scent to sugary cereal milk :)

The trichome production on this lady is incredible and makes this cultivar an obvious choice for producing pristine-quality sift.

I took these pictures with 2 or so weeks left to maturity, though as of today they will be ready to harvest mid-week!
Once harvested the plants must dry and cure to perfection before being sent off to the trimmers and then finally, making its way to me! :)
