Capitalists and Prostitutes

As an anarchist I put alot of value into relationships. Whether it be with friends, family, or providers of the services and products I enjoy. The State tries to convince us that these relationships can be taken for granted and it fosters the attitude of self-entitlement. When personal relationships become mandated and forced then personal agency is suppressed in society. One way that Statism does this is by encouraging casual sex in young people, teaching them that what they do with their bodies doesn't matter which erodes the value of personal relationships. Firstly with one's body and then ultimately with the things they make and do with their bodies or their personal property.

What I define as casual sex is a cultural phenomenon where people are coerced into sexual interactions, either physical or otherwise, with individuals who do not fulfill a personal need. A facet of culture where a person's sex is disregarded as personal property and is instead treated like a public resource. Although similar to rape its not the same because both sides are somewhat willing albeit because either party is not aware of any other alternatives. So it is a feature of society born from ignorance of personal values.

Besides casual sex, rape and prostitution there are personal sexual relationships. These may be described as "casual" but they are not because the participants value their partner(s) more than they would a public utility. They value the other party in some way other than their sex. At the very least they value other people's autonomy and wish to build a relationship that includes this value. They recognize that nobody own anyone regardless of how this relationship progresses.

Prostitution is not casual sex.

Prostitution is a business transaction the same as any other exchange of goods or services. No different than paying a mechanic or for a ticket to see a movie. When all parties involved are willing participants a free exchange of goods or services takes place and everyone walks away (hopefully) satisfied and a value based relationship is strengthened.

The main difference between prostitution and casual sex is that the producer is free to walk away in one situation and the other is not because they are owned by their community. Capitalism allows for individual freedom regardless of ones role in the community. No one belongs to anyone else.

Statism is a program designed to erode the values of humanity so that we see each other the same way agents of the State see us.

Property that belongs to them.
