Tales of a Ford Ranger LDV

You may recall this story from 4 months ago?, ended up being a really bad day and had 3 parts to it.

The Gearbox had a really dodgy 3rd and 4th Gearchange as well, so ,

Lets get it all sorted!

After this event Wayne and I went to look at a Motor and Gearbox , not too! far away from us.

There are not a lot of these older Ford V6 motors around, so took what we thought was not too bad a Deal

When I stripped the new Motor it was unbelievable, looked like someone had stripped a few Motors and just tossed the rest of the left over parts into this block!

Most of the Bolts were missing , Conrods were fitted to the Crankshaft with no bearings!

Worst of all , a later model hydraulic tappet Model, heads, manifolds, bolts etc , not interchangeable?

This ended up being a long laborious asembley, with lots of breaks to buy odd bolts , even some of the gaskets were not interchangeable between the Blocks.

This photo shows that the threaded section which the oil filter screws on to does not exist?

Cannot be bought , and could not be taken from the damaged block.

I bought a bolt of the correct thread , drilled it out and cut the head off! Did the job.

I even took my Torque Wrench in for re-calibration , to make sure that all would be right?, little did I know!
