Car news: Cupra to be own brand
Many of you probably remember the first Seat Ibiza who was the first of Seat's cars to get the sporty "Cupra" badge after Seat had won the 2 litre WRC with the Ibiza in 1996 (then later also in 97 and 98).

Now Seat has decided to take the Cupra name, used to mark Seat's more aggressive and sporty versions, and let Cupra become it's own brand. They are even planning reveal their first models next month. Including a version of the quite plain Ateca SUV, that could do with a makeover.

Bye bye GTi's...
Why not. Cupra models are quite competitive and this is just a rebranding.
