More Vinfast VF3's.

These ultra-cheap cars are extremely popular here in Vietnam and with good reason. There is likely no other car that you can acquire brand new for $10,000. We will not find out for several years if they are really worth it or not because if they don't last at least 5 years, it's not really a good deal now, is it.

I have heard some stories from Vietnamese people but I don't know if they are true or just a story about people wanting to have something to talk about but one VN person told me that the batteries have a long warranty and will be replaced for free if they fail, and another person said that they do NOT have a warranty and as you might expect, the battery is half of the value of the car. If the first person is correct than this car is a safe buy, if the 2nd person is correct the cars are probably trash to be avoided.

In the meantime I am really enjoying how individual people are kitting these things out to make them all unique. They have become sort of like the notebooks of a teenager in school where it becomes a competition of sorts to see who can make their car the most unique.

This is just downright adorable here. And since I have seen the
Interior of these are actually very small in the back seat and storage area, that decal is about the maximum size that a family could be and still all be able to fit inside of the car. The back seat is only going to be fitting someone who has legs that are the size of a kid under 8 years old. Other than that, it could be considered torture. An adult would definitely not fit back there.

I have no idea if these things have any off-road capability to speak of. Based on how cheap they are I am going to take a guess and say that they have near none. I don’t know what the roof rack thing on this one is for, it could just be extra storage because the interior obviously doesn’t have very much of that. Either way, I think it looks cool and gives this one a lot of character.

Whoever owns this one is clearly going for a more “extreme” look and I think this is very funny. There is absolutely nothing that is extreme about this car other than the extremely low price that it costs to get one. That ladder… would it even be able to handle the weight of an adult human? I’m not going to be the one that tries it out. Again though, I think this looks really cool and I believe that is the entire point with most of these alterations.

Lastly we have this pink number that appears to have the stock standard wheels on it. This is just a guess on my part but the ones of these that I see that appear to have the least amount of optional addons tend to have these wheels. You have to look closely but you can see some bunny ears on the top near the back.

I would look absolutely wonderful driving this car and would surprise a lot of people if I rocked up in it.

The word around town is that these vehicles are not selling very well in the very few markets that they are available in outside of Vietnam and I can only imagine that this is because they are seen as trash vehicles. Is that true? It's impossible to say. But when I hear about people paying over 100 thousand dollars for a Tesla, I think I would rather have an army of VF3's and then just drive them until they die. It's not like you are ever going to be able to go fast in Vietnam anyway, the roads are too crowded.
