Lamborghini Miura

A Rare Machine

This is the car that was probably the first supercar with a rear mid-engined two-seat layout. I had Matchbox cars of this as a kid, but I have never ever seen one on the road so the trip to the museum was worth it just to see one up close. Two different trips and they had a green one, then the next time they had a yellow one.

It was so great to see the car, something I never thought would be possible as they are so rare, originally Ferruccio Lamborghini didn't want to produce the car but it eventually made its way into production. It had a 3.9L V12 engine in a transversely-mounted mid-engine layout, the rolling chassis was shown at the Turin Salon in 1965. People were impressed enough to place orders for the car even though the body was not shown.

These cars were once again immaculate examples and such great cars just to look at, and as ever I wish I could have taken one home with me, where ever that may be.

I wish I took more photos but once again I was looking more than clicking.

All these images are taken by me copyright Gyro, you should not see them anywhere else but Steemit, thanks for looking.

I had a matchbox Lambo too, it was one of my favourites.

Is that a group of other Lambo's around the Miura ?

There is a Jenson Intercepter and some other thing around it but no Lambo's it was all alone for some reason. But I do have an article in the works with a few more.

I had one of those as a matchbox car as well. Think i still have it somewhere. I still have not seen a real one. So thanks for the photos and extra info.

A popular car for all of us it seems, thanks man.

I'd love one of these in our collection, staggeringly good looking, saw one on the hard shoulder of the M6 motorway. A rare sight indeed.

Yeah, your certainly very lucky to see one on the road, it would have been awesome.

Nice car Gyro!

Great car... There was Lamborghini Miura P400/S Coupé for sale last week at Bonhmans in Paris, but it remained unsold (my post about it), a bit expensive with a asking price of 1,200,000 euros.

If I had the money (Bitcoin) I jump on it for that price.

I wish you that you can, soon.

Nice car dear @gyro
