I also find that 55-60 mph is the optimal speed for fuel efficiency, once you get above that even cruising your economy starts to drop.
Also being proactive helps a lot. Leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you, pay attention to what's going on up ahead, and try to avoid harsh breaking followed by accelerating. Use your cars momentum to your advantage!
