On March 27th I visited "Casa Pueblo" in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Adjuntas is situated about a 2-hour drive Southwest of San Juan. Casa Pueblo is a community center that is currently running on solar power and independently from the electric grid.

Casa Pueblo has three controllers, a power distribution panel and two inverters (from left to right). The box at the bottom is where the batteries are located to store energy.

Casa Pueblo has a radio station at a separate house behind it. The radio station has their own inverter and battery storage as seen below.

The installation looks very neatly done.
What does 'Casa Pueblo' mean in English?

It literally means "House Town" but its main purpose is to be a community center that provides electricity and communication for when the power goes out. Such events as yesterday's blackout, Casa Pueblo was able to operate 100% on solar power despite the island wide blackout caused by a small crane excavator.
