This cross-breed is aimed at getting a pattern of "spotted wild cat" on domestic cats. Furthermore, the offspring of her offspring are crossed again with her father to produce a kitten with a spotted pattern that became known as the Bengal race. This race is descended from wild paint and is still rare. The name of bengal itself comes from the scientific name of Asian Leopard Cat which is often referred to as Bengal Tiger.
