In the Dark. A Breath of Fresh Air

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned an Egyptian series I discovered purely by chance, and whose first episode hooked me right from the opening vignette.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, because I believe we should all watch or read works without preconceived notions or external biases, since everyone has their own tastes and criteria.

That’s why the only thing I can say is that sometimes stepping out of routine and trying something new can gift us very pleasant surprises, as happened to me with Egyptian productions.

Once I finished watching Room 207, the algorithm suggested In the Dark, which is also an Egyptian series.

In the Dark is a series with independent episodes, but all follow the theme of psychological horror and suspense, with very good narrative twists that make each ending surprising.

I imagine the original in Arabic must be much better than the dubbed neutral Spanish version I’m watching, but without a doubt, these productions have nothing to envy from platforms like Netflix, HBO, and similar. I would even dare to say they are better because they have a certain freshness and originality.

So this is not a review, but simply sharing discoveries of little gems that I think you might enjoy as much as I am.

En la oscuridad. Una bocanada de aire fresco

Hace un par de semanas les comentaba sobre una serie egipcia que descubrí por pura casualidad y cuyo primer capítulo me enganchó desde la viñeta de presentación.

Particularmente no soy de hacer reseñas porque creo que todos deberíamos ver o leer obras sin preconceptos o prejuicios ajenos, dado que cada persona tiene sus propios gustos y criterios.

Por eso lo único que puedo decir es que a veces salir de la rutina e intentar algo nuevo puede regalarnos sorpresas muy agradables, como me pasó con las producciones egipcias.

Una vez que terminé de ver Habitación 207, el algoritmo me sugirió ver En la oscuridad, que también es una serie egipcia.

En la oscuridad es una serie con capítulos independientes, pero todos siguen la temática horror psicológico y suspenso, con muy buenos giros narrativos que hacen que cada final te sorprenda.

Imagino que el original en idioma árabe será mucho mejor que la versión doblada al español neutro que estoy viendo, pero sin ninguna duda, estas producciones no tienen nada que envidiar a las de plataformas como Netflix, HBO y similares, y me atrevería a decir que son mejores porque tienen cierta frescura y originalidad.

Así que esta no es una reseña, sino apenas un compartir descubrimientos de pequeñas joyas que creo que podrían disfrutar como lo estoy haciendo yo.
