SLC S27 Week4 - Let's Play OpenTTD:Air Transport

Assalamualaikum my fellows I hope you will be fine by the grace of Allah.

I am participating in the video game OpenTTD challenge by @sergeyk. I like to play games but I started playing this game for teh first time while participating in the challenge. I hope I will learn and showcase my work through this challenge.

✈️ Task 1 🚁

Two Airports – choose two cities and connect them with air transport (Airport1 + Airport2)

I loaded my old saved game where I left in the last homework. I have decided to build two airports between Tonfinbridge and Fendston. I will connect these two cities via air transport.

4 x 5 small airport

In both cities I have built small airports. I have counted the tiles of small airport and this is 4 x 5 airport on the map.

Both salla irports accept Passengers, Mail, Food, and Diamonds.

I checked all available aircrafts and bought Darvin 600 which is capable to carry 260 passengers and 40 bags mail.

Both cities are celebarting aircarfts. Now both cities are connected to each other via air transport.

Unfortunately due to small airport my plane was crashed then I removed smaller airports and upgraded them to large airports. In the Fendston city I faced the problem as local authority did not allow me to build large airport then I planted many cactus to get permission to build large airports. Now large airports are working and the plane is also a bit small.

✈️ Task 2 🚁

Airport + Transfer – choose one of the largest cities and build an airport there (Airport3). Since the airport doesn’t cover the entire city, place several bus stops and mail stations around the city. Use transfer from these stations to deliver passengers and mail to the airport.

My largest city among all the cities is the capital named city which is Islamabad. I will use this largest city to complete this task. I will build a large airport because the city is also large.

You can see a large Islamabad airport near the city and it is covering some building areas here. I will build bus staitions away from airport at corners to bring passengers and mails at airport.

On the corner I have built one bus station and a depot for the vehicles. I have built another bus station near airport and it is connected to airport. I have bought a bus from depot and in the routes I have directed the bus to transfer passenger at the bus station which is connected to airport.

I looked for a place far from airport to build a staion for the mails delivery. In the central area of Islamabad I have built a truck station. Near station there is a depot. I bought a mail truck whcih can carry 30 bags of mails.

The passengers and mails are being delivered to the airport. The pasengers and mails are waiting to be transported from the airport. Currently there are 113 passengers and 7 bags of mail.

✈️ Task 3 🚁

Refit – convert a plane to carry a different type of cargo, for example mail.

I have bought a new plane that is AirTaxi A34-1000 and it is capable to transport 75 passengers and 10 bags of mail. Buty I want it should only deliver mails. I will refit this plane to deliver only mails.

I have succesfully refit plane and now it will only deliver mails. Its capacity of mails 85 bags. It can carry upto 85 bags of mails and can deliver from one airport to another.

I have set its route to deliver mails between Islamabd airport and Fendston airport. My mail transporting plane is in profit and continously working to deliver mails.

✈️ Task 4 🚁

Upgrade – buy land around your airports. If that’s not possible, build Airport4 in such a way that it can be upgraded to a more modern version later. Reserve land for future airport expansion. Try to replace an old airport with a newer one. If the authorities don’t allow it, either wait or plant trees in the city, then try again. Even if upgrading fails, the task will still be positively evaluated — the key is to understand why it didn’t work and what steps are needed.

I have bought land around Islamabd airport. I have plan to upgrade this ariport as it is in the biggest city and it should be bigger. I will upgrade it to Intercontinental Airport. I have bought enough land a dn I hope Intercontinental airport will be upgraded here easily.

I demolished large airport of 6 x 6 size. Now I have empty area where there was an airport and the land which I have bought around the airport.

I have built new bigger airport at the place from where I demolished a 6 x 6 airport. My new Intercontinental airport is 9 x 11. I did not face any difficulty while removing and upgrading my airport maybe my rating was enough to build it directly without planting trees.

But I want to quote here again that I faced similar difficulty in task one where at first I built small airports and my plane was crashed then I demolished small airports and built large airports. But the local authority did not allow me. Then I used this concept to increase my rating as learnt from teacher in the lesson. I planted many cactus plants in the desert and my rating was increased. Then I was allowed to build large airports.

But luckily ut did not happen with me in the task 4.

✈️ Task 5 🚁

Helicopters – if a depot is already available, build a Helidepot or Helistation; if not, simply build two Heliports in different cities. Buy helicopters at the nearest airport, Helidepot, or Helistation. Assign tasks to the helicopters and clone additional helicopters as needed.

I tried to find some cities where there is enough population so that helicopters can give them benefits of transportation and I can ear profit in my company.

In both cities I have built helidepot. I will buy helicopters from one of these helidepot and then those will work in the air to transport pasngers and mails. I will try to buy a helicopter which can carry passengers and at least mails on the same time.

I checked availabel helicopters but there was only Guru X2 Helicopter. I did not have any choice. I bought this helicopter and assigned its task to fly between both helidepot.

It was my good decision to build helidepot between these cities. You can see helicopter is successfully transporting passengers and bags of mail and earning money for the company.

• My units of cargo delivered has decreased than previous routine.

• The vaue of my company is increasing slowly.

• There are total 20 stations of my company in the game.

• There are 28 road vehicles, 4 ships, and 3 aircrafts. The value of my company is $4554930.
