My New Old Camera

Greetings, friends.
I got my hands on a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX300 camera. It's not a new camera, but I decided to try it out. I took it for a walk for the first time last Wednesday. The result turned out to be very successful. What attracted me to it? I wanted a camera with a large zoom. This camera has a 35x zoom. That was the main factor, along with the 20-megapixel sensor. Another plus is the ridiculous price.

I heard the tapping of a woodpecker and looked around. If I hadn't had this camera in my hands, I wouldn't have been able to see it. The zoom on this camera is excellent. That's its main advantage. I was aware in advance that the quality of the photos would not be exceptional.
And who is this? Squirrel. She was looking at me from a tree. I could tell she was watching the woodpecker, but she was looking at me.
I got the result I needed.
but...
Today I took this camera for a walk again. But something incomprehensible happened - not a single photograph was preserved. Why? What happened? I don't know. Before the walk, I took some photos, which are stored on a USB stick; however, the photos from the walk have disappeared. Sadly.
