Mountains, Mist, and Me at Doi Pa Wai ☕

Hello everyone 🌸

This Steem-exclusive post is my entry for the CCS & Steem Atlas Travel Contest Week 15, a cooperative contest by the Camping Club Steemit Community and the Steem Atlas Project I simply couldn’t miss — I have so much appreciation for both!✨

Lately, the weather in Northern Thailand has been pleasantly cool, making it the perfect time to explore nature. This region is full of beautiful destinations, from waterfalls and flower gardens to breathtaking mountain views.

Today, I’d love to take you on a short trip to Doi Pa Wai, also known as Mon Mok Tawan. This well-known viewpoint is located in Phop Phra District, sitting high on a hillside and offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. In recent years, several cozy and scenic accommodations have appeared in the area, giving travelers plenty of lovely options to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere 🌄.

I had been planning to stay at Doi Pa Wai for many years, hoping to experience its beautiful nature and the soft morning mist. Unfortunately, the timing never worked out—until this year. Once I finally had the chance, I didn’t hesitate and quickly booked a place to stay.

At first, I tried calling a friend to join me on this trip, but they weren’t available. In the end, I decided to travel to Doi Pa Wai alone. Over time, I’ve grown to enjoy solo travel. It feels more convenient, especially when I spend a long time taking photos—I never have to worry about making someone wait 📸.

When traveling alone, I can take photos all day if I want, moving at my own pace and enjoying every moment. When the long-awaited day finally arrived, I was so excited and eager to capture the beauty of the surroundings that I arrived too early to check in.

Most accommodations allow check-in around 2:00 PM, but that wasn’t a problem for me at all. While waiting, I simply walked around, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and slowly capturing the beauty of the place, one photo at a time 🌿🙂.

While waiting for check-in, I decided to walk around the viewpoint area. The weather was cool and comfortable, with soft clouds floating low over the mountains. The green hills stretched endlessly into the distance, creating a calm and refreshing atmosphere that instantly made me feel relaxed.

Standing there, surrounded by open views and fresh air, I felt grateful for choosing to travel alone this time. There was no rush, no schedule to follow—just me, the scenery, and the quiet sounds of nature. Moments like this make solo travel feel truly special 🍃.

I took my time capturing photos, enjoying different angles of the mountains and the soft light filtering through the clouds. Sometimes, I put the camera down and simply stood still, letting the peaceful atmosphere sink in. It was one of those moments where doing nothing felt just right 🙂.

Even though I arrived earlier than expected, the waiting time turned out to be a beautiful part of the experience. Doi Pa Wai welcomed me gently, as if reminding me that slowing down can be just as rewarding as reaching the destination 🌄.

After finishing my photos on the other side of Doi Pa Wai, I started to feel a little hungry. I walked over to a small café located on the hillside. It wasn’t a big place, but it was simple, cozy, and welcoming, with a beautiful view stretching out in front of it.

I ordered some bread and a cup of Thai tea, then sat down to relax while waiting. As usual, I couldn’t resist picking up my camera again. I slowly captured the atmosphere around the café—the wooden tables, the open space, and the mountains quietly resting in the background ☕🍞.

Even though I’ve visited this café many times before, the atmosphere never feels the same. Sometimes the sky is clear, sometimes covered with clouds, and sometimes the mist drifts in softly. Each visit brings a different mood, and that’s what makes this place special to me.

I sat there for a while, enjoying my drink and the peaceful surroundings, feeling completely present in the moment. It was another reminder that simple places, when paired with the right atmosphere, can leave the strongest impressions 🌿🙂.

I finally sat down at the café, placing my drink on the wooden table while the mountains stretched endlessly in front of me. A warm cup of tea and a quiet view like this felt like a perfect combination—simple, but deeply comforting ☕.

Not long after, my order arrived: thick slices of buttered toast, lightly crisp on the outside and soft inside. I enjoyed it slowly, taking small bites while letting my eyes wander across the green hills and the soft movement of the clouds.

The view from the café never gets old. The mountains looked different again that day—greener, fresher, and somehow calmer. Sitting there with good food and a peaceful view made time feel slower, in the best way possible 🌿.

I didn’t rush to finish my meal. I stayed a little longer, breathing in the cool air and enjoying the quiet moment. Sometimes, a simple snack with a beautiful view can feel more special than a full meal anywhere else 🙂.

After finishing my drink and taking a last look at the mountains, I slowly packed my things and walked back to the accommodation area. The afternoon light was softer now, and the air felt a little cooler than before. Everything seemed to be slowing down, including my thoughts.

Before checking in, I took a quiet moment to enjoy the atmosphere one more time. The hills, the clouds, and the gentle breeze made the wait feel meaningful rather than long. It felt like a calm pause between the journey outside and the comfort waiting ahead 🌿.

Soon, it was time to check in and settle into the place I had booked. I’ll share more about the room and the view from my stay in the next post. For now, I’ll leave you with the peaceful feeling of this afternoon at Doi Pa Wai, a place that gently reminds me to slow down and enjoy each moment 🙂✨.
