Simple Fun, Endless Challenge: My Addictive Ride Through Space Shooter 2

Finished Space Shooter 2: Tactical Evolution, had far more fun than I expected. From the minute it booted up I was instantly captured; the neon spacey look to the game, along with very slick animations and a simple lay out; gave the entire thing a rather "ultra slick" look. The thing I liked most about the game was that it was split into several different worlds; each world having different levels and different environments to take them through.

World 1; gave us quite a comforting first world, but you knew straight away this was going to escalate quickly; "old school arcade shooter" feel is definitely present; with a much more modern, and strategic play on things; keeping the player constantly aiming for the next new levels. Difficulty options were also key for me; I played on a couple of different modes and I was very surprised at the way in which it changed the whole feel of the game;

the easier levels are good, but the harder difficulties really stretch your reflexes and your focus, as the high-score multiplier urges you to be that bit better, and push for that that much higher score. Game-play is fast and frantic, but never overly so. You need to stay alert, you need to look out for fire, and you need to stay on your toes, it's that that balance that you always want in a game of this genre. I loved my time playing this; it's very much that kind of game where you can sit down and only play a quick session for ten minutes, but end up losing hours of sleep, and I'm pretty sure this is going to be a game that I will be getting hooked into and returning to unlock more worlds and complete higher difficulty levels on.
