I captured these photographs towards the end of winter. I took these pictures back when I first moved into the hostel. At that time, the hostel garden was home to a wide variety of flowers. While other hostels also have flower gardens, our hostel actually features two—one located inside the premises and another just outside. However, due to a lack of regular maintenance, the gardens have now become overgrown with grass and weeds. Nevertheless, battling against these conditions, a few flower plants have managed to survive and are still blooming. I have previously shared photographs of chrysanthemums; today, I will be sharing a few more photos, this time featuring chrysanthemums. I hope you will enjoy today's collection of chrysanthemum photographs. So, let's get started—
The chrysanthemum is a highly familiar and popular flower associated with the winter season. Just as there are numerous species of this flower, they also come in a wide array of colors. These flowers are cultivated commercially. Chrysanthemums are available in both indigenous (local) and hybrid varieties. The one pictured here is an indigenous variety of chrysanthemum.
These flowers thrive exceptionally well when grown in pots. A single plant produces an abundance of blooms. These flowers remain fresh for an extended period, and their color gradually changes as the days go by. The blooms on these plants remain fresh for 20 to 25 days. These flowers can also be propagated by planting stem cuttings. Moreover, the plants themselves are quite long-lived. These particular flowers appeared to be a deep yellow color. They bore a striking resemblance to Dahlia flowers.The blooms appeared quite fresh and visually captivating.
Indigenous varieties of Chrysanthemums typically feature either single petals or a dense arrangement of numerous petals. A single plant bears such a profusion of flowers that the stems must be staked with sticks to provide support.This particular specimen is a hybrid variety of Chrysanthemum. This specific variety exhibits a remarkable diversity in petal shapes; some feature petals that curve like the hull of a boat, while others possess petals as slender as fine threads—a truly beautiful sight to behold.
