A Rain-Soaked Evening in the City: A Day to Remember

Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.

Every day of our lives carries something unique. Office work, the rush of deadlines, and the endless race against time often define our routines. Yet, in between these busy schedules, there are moments of pause—moments that remain etched in memory. Today was one such day for me.

It was my weekly day off from the office. Usually, a holiday means going out or spending time with family, but this one turned out to be completely different. Since yesterday evening, the sky was covered with clouds, and it had been drizzling on and off through the night and into the day. Because of that, there was no chance of stepping outside.

I woke up around 10:30 in the morning. After freshening up and having breakfast, I started doing the laundry. For working people like us, the weekly holiday often becomes “laundry day.” It’s almost a tradition now, as if weekends were meant for washing clothes!

Since my family wasn’t home, lunch was on me. I cooked a simple meal, and by the time I finished eating, it was already 4 p.m. That heavy meal brought along a wave of drowsiness, and I dozed off. When I finally woke up, the clock struck 7 in the evening.

I made myself a cup of tea with biscuits and puffed rice. As I sipped the tea, I noticed that the rain had stopped. The sky looked clearer, and a cool breeze was sweeping across the city. Without a second thought, I went up to the rooftop with my tea in hand.

The moment I stepped onto the roof, I felt a refreshing calmness. The damp smell of earth, mixed with the chilly air, created a perfect atmosphere. The clouds floated lazily across the sky, and here and there, the moonlight peeked through. Looking down, I saw buildings all around—some windows glowing with light, while others were dark. It felt like a reflection of life itself: some people in brightness, others in shadow.

On the streets below, cars kept moving in an endless flow. Every second, vehicles came and went, reminding me of the city’s constant rhythm. In this busy metropolis, everyone seemed lost in their own world—some arriving, some leaving, with no time to notice anyone else. Each person was busy with their own race.

I stood on the rooftop for almost an hour, soaking in the sights and the atmosphere. The rain had washed everything clean, and the evening felt fresh, calm, and alive. It was as if the city wanted to tell its stories through the lights, the clouds, and the sounds of movement.

By the end of the day, I realized something important. In the midst of office rush, stressful routines, and life’s constant pressure, we all need moments like this—moments where we pause, connect with ourselves, and embrace the beauty around us. Today became that moment for me. A rain-soaked evening, simple yet special, one that will stay with me for a long time.

Thanks all
