Patience, Hard Work, and Dreams- The Story of Earning a Home
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
In every human life, there are dreams that take time to achieve. They require patience, dedication, and the right people to walk the journey with. The story of my office manager is one such example—a journey that is not just about owning a flat, but about finding stability, security, and a permanent shelter for his family.
My manager joined our office in 1997—the very same year I was born. Since then, he has worked tirelessly in this organization, building his career step by step. Over the years, he has learned one important lesson: with savings, unity, and patience, even the impossible becomes possible.
A Collective Dream of 36 People
In our area, a group of 36 people decided to buy land together and build a residential building. This was not a sudden decision. It was the result of long discussions, planning, trust, and mutual understanding. Their dream was a ten-story building—parking space on the ground floor and four flats on every floor, making a total of 36 flats.
They opened a joint bank account where everyone deposited money every month according to their ability. With this steady contribution, the construction progressed slowly but surely. From bricks, sand, and cement to rods, plastering, painting, and finishing—everything was funded through unity and disciplined saving.
Yesterday, I went to the bank to deposit the final installment for my manager’s flat. Standing there, watching everyone joyfully deposit their last payments, I felt like I was witnessing the celebration of years of hard work. Their satisfaction reflected what it truly means to achieve something after long struggle.
The Joy of a Permanent Home
In a city like Dhaka, nearly 30% of one’s salary goes into paying house rent. Then comes groceries, transportation, education, and other expenses—which makes survival itself challenging. In this reality, owning your own flat is not just about having four walls; it represents security, mental peace, and a stable future.
The construction of the building is almost complete now. Road work is ongoing, the garage is being prepared, electrical connections are being finalized, and the lift installation is in progress. If everything goes well, they will move into their new flats on the 1st of January, InshaAllah. Just imagining the moment when 36 families will enter their long-awaited homes fills the heart with joy.
My Own Dream
This entire experience has deeply inspired me. I, too, dream of having a permanent place one day—a home where my wife and child can live comfortably without worrying about rent or shifting houses frequently. A home of your own brings a special kind of peace.
Dreams may be big, but they come true slowly—one small sacrifice, one step of saving, and one moment of determination at a time. If Allah wills, I also hope to join such an initiative someday.
Final Thoughts
Success does not come only from working for yourself—it comes from working together, supporting one another, and believing in collective growth. My manager and the 36 people of our area have proved that unity can achieve even the biggest goals.
Their story teaches us one beautiful truth:
Allah never wastes hard work, and unity can turn dreams into reality.
Thanks all
