Last night I watched the opening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the first game in Mexico and kinda felt stuck in time.

Well, I was not actually on the stadium in Mexico, but on my sofa but that did not change my perception of time.

I felt like we are about 2000 years ago, at the times where basic food and entertainment were all given to the people in the Roman Empire.

Has the world changed since?

I think it has not.

The economic status of the most of the people all around the world is getting worse, contrary to the status of those 1% on top who get shamelessly rich and even richer by the day.

The number of wars is increasing. New ones start but the old ones are not brought to an end.

This round, the Word Cup will be the longest one - the number of teams taking part have been increased and it will last almost a month and a half, spread across three countries - USA, Canada and Mexico., into several time zones.

We will be kept entertained for a substantial part of the summer. I hope nothing bad has been planned meanwhile... and I wish you a wonderful month of June and July ahead!
