Saving Captain Planet in One…Two…TREE!!!

Imagine a world without trees. There will be tremendous increase of pollution in our surroundings. There will be no filter of air pollutants and we can no longer enjoy breathing fresh and clean air. There will be sudden increased of temperature and humidity in the earth’s surface. We can feel directly the heat of the sun’s rays pricking our skin. No more shades that will shield us for its striking rays.

Trees can reduce air temperature by blocking sunlight. A tree can be a natural air conditioner. It can improve the efficiency of your heat pump by shading it with a tree. The deciduous trees block sunlight in the summer but allow sunlight to reach and warm your home. Trees absorb and block noise and reduce glare. Source

They says when our eyes are strained from facing the pc monitor or screen all day (especially those who are working in the offices), look for something green (the trees in your surroundings) and it will soothe the nerves of our eyes.

Without trees, the flood will soon knocking our doors since there were no roots that will absorb storm water, soil erosion will likely occur. The winds will take off our roofs in times of typhoon since no more trees preventing wind speed.

Trees has a various roles in our lives. The connection between human and trees existence are indispensable. From the oxygen we breathe, the materials we use building our homes, even the piece of paper we write in, we have all these privilege because of trees. It stabilizes the life of the animals as well.

I am thankful we still have trees alongside the highways. It helps a lot to circulate the cool air of our surroundings. I hope they will not cut it down, prune only if the branches causes any inconvenience to the commuters.

Trees slows down the rate of global warming and it aesthetically beautifies the world we live in. The leaves are a physical filter of dust in the air. The tree sustained the human existence and cool the temperature of our planet. I believe it has a massive effect in climate change. These are the few benefits we get from trees but I'm sure there are more we can get from them.

We had our church tree planting activity together with @orhem, @honeyletsgo and @itsharrah. It was our opportunity to join and help in our own little ways. It is not only a simple tree planting but it was planting a future for the next generations to come.

I hope this post will promote awareness to give importance to our planet, especially the trees. Illegal logging is still one of the biggest problem we encounter today, which is one of the main cause of deforestation. Taking actions today through reforestation would make a difference, let’s help save Captain Planet by planting more trees.
