But what does the bible say about this:
1 Corinthians 10:23
Everything is lawful, but not everything is useful. Everything is lawful, but not everything builds.
The truth is that when we think we are free, the truth is another, the truth is that we find ourselves acting and doing things that lead us to sin, and being in sin is not being free, it means being tied or chained to the will of others Satan.
In Galatians 5: 16-23 It says:
The works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit
I say, then: Walk in the Spirit, and do not satisfy the desires of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and that of the Spirit is against the flesh; and these are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.
And manifest are the works of the flesh, which are: adultery, fornication, filth, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, strife, dissensions, heresies, envies, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; about which I admonish you, as I have told you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; Against such things there is no law.
THE TRUE FREEDOM
The true freedom was given to us by Jesus Christ when he died for us, he carried the full weight of the sin of humanity, he gave himself to expiate them, on the cross he took away our filth, evil, diseases and with his shed blood he washed us of everything this. That is why his word says that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. To be free is not to be bound to evil, to sin that leads us sooner or later to calamity, to continuous suffering, to death. To be free is to be able to enjoy the blessings, love and protection that God gives us that are the product of our love and obedience to Him, is to be sure that after this world passes there is an eternal abode in heaven for us.
Jesus is our freedom, his sacrifice is the highest expression of love and the beauty of that love is incomparable.
So:
Because you, brothers, were called to freedom; only do not use freedom as an occasion for the flesh, but serve one another for love. Galatians 5:13
