DailyCelestialChallenge-TUESDAY: AnimalKingdom

in #celestialchallenge8 years ago (edited)

The #celestialchallenge of today Animal Kingdom I am going to comment on the snake, a very dangerous animal and that few we like.

The sin of Adam and Eve
3 The serpent was more cunning than all the wild animals that the LORD God had made, so he asked the woman:

  • Is it true that God told them not to eat from any tree in the garden?

2 And the woman answered him:

-We can eat the fruits of the garden trees. 3 But God told us "You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, not even touch it because if you do it you will die".

4 Then the serpent said to the woman:

  • Surely they will not die. 5 Even God knows that when you eat of that tree, you will understand everything better; They will be like God because they can differentiate between good and evil.

Why did Satan use a snake to talk to Eve?

▪ the Bible clearly indicates that it was Satan who manipulated the serpent in the garden of Eden. But why would someone so powerful employ such a method?

The Word of God warns us that Satan uses cunning "machinations" to try to deceive us, and the story of Eden is a good example of it (Ephesians 6:11). Far from being a simple fable with talking animals, it is a clear example of the tricks with which the Devil tries to distance us from God. Let's see in more detail why he used that ruse.

Admittedly, Satan knew how to choose his victim. He knew that Eva was the youngest and most inexperienced being in the universe, so he devised a very malicious trick. As if it were a ventriloquist, it made him believe that the speaker was a snake, an animal stealthy by nature. In this way he managed to hide his identity and his true intentions (Genesis 3: 1). But he also achieved other goals.

To begin with, he captured Eva's interest, since she knew that snakes do not speak. Let's not forget that her husband studied the animals - including the snake - and he named them all, so it is very likely that she also knew this reptile well (Genesis 2:19). The fact is that it stung her curiosity, and ended up fixing her attention on the only thing she was forbidden to touch in the whole garden. On the other hand, suppose that the serpent was among the branches of the tree. In such a case, the devil's trick may have led Eve to think that the serpent had eaten the fruit and that was why she was able to speak. It might even be said: "If the fruit has had this effect on a snake, what will happen if I eat it?" We do not know for sure whether Eva passed this idea through her head, nor whether the serpent ate from the tree. But there is one thing that is certain: when the serpent told him that if he ate the fruit he would be "like God", Eva did not hesitate to believe him.
