Reflections
The song is about how we as people in a collective society seek to rid ourselves and others of what they are meant to do. We punish our children and teach them to be normal and the same as everyone else. We teach them to be what they are not meant to be. Here, the protagonist has led the same life ever since birth. He may have had a few characteristic traits of his own which have now been stripped away by constant punishment. Even when he grows up, there are others that are in control of his life and he tries to seek their approval instead of doing what we want to. As he grows old, he realises that he has many regrets about how he could not excel at what he was meant to do and instead stuck to doing what others wanted him to do. And for that, he blames the world and dubs them unforgivable.
