Joining Challenges on Steemit
I joined a lot of challenges here on Steemit since I started. I remember when I am starting out, the first challenge that I joined is #colorchallenge by @kalemandra. The challenge is still very strong up to now that a lot of Steemians are up to it.
The second one is the 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge by @mariannewest which I religiously follow for week, though I am posting at least 2-3 times a week now. Still, I am involved in this community.
Someone nominated me on Seven Days Black and White Challenge which I successfully finished!
Photography contest by @juliank is a famous one which I consistently joined when I was a newbie, as well as #dailyfoodphotography which was initiated by @howtostartablog, and was taken over by @mininthecity.
I also joined #100dayspoetrychallenge by @d-pend but I admit, I failed after few days as I am unable to consistently write poetry.
At the moment, I am busy with May 30 Days Writing Challenge by @dragosroua. I started late, but I am consistently posting with hopes to finish it successfully.
I also joined several contests, and thankfully, I won in some of them like #my2018 and different poetry challenges.
There's nothing wrong in joining these challenges and contests unless you are not spamming and plagiarizing. Never mind those who are so-called elites who insists on long and quality contents (their own criteria). Such challenges is part of the community, but of course, don't overdo it.
Please support @surpassinggoogle as a witness by voting him at https://steemit.com/~witnesses and type in "steemgigs" at the first search box.
You can also give him witness voting decisions on your behalf, visit https://steemit.com/~witnesses again and type in "surpassinggoogle" in the second box as a proxy.
Please support his project as well, which is @teardrops Smart Media Token.
Do support @steemph, @bayanihan, and @sawasdeethailand curation teams. Huge thanks to sir @bobbylee, and @hr1.

I am a newbie and have joined some of those contest or challenges you mentioned. Maybe it's best to ignore those so-called "elites", as long as you are happy and doing the right things.
