As the Steemians understand in each Steemit Learning Challenge organized by the Steemitblog , we see different competitions and everyone joins these competitions with joy and full interest to show their best.
Therefore, I have come up with a prompt based fictional story contest idea for Season-31 which Steemians can write on their blog or in their favorite communities.
These Fiction writing contest prompts are based on unique themes and interesting formats that spark creativity. I've come up with practical ideas for this season's contest. I'd love to see Steemians demonstrate a practical approach and follow these prompts.
My Challenge for Season -31 is all about craft a gripping short story (500-800 words) on themes provided below that explore futuristic worlds, lost loves in dystopias, or hidden superpowers awakening. I've kept them concise with plot hooks, key conflict, and a twist to spark writers' imaginations.
Here are six fiction story ideas, one for each week:
Week 1- I'm offering a prompt, such as a monster or vampire (depending on Steemians choice) who survives on emotions instead of blood, exploring the hidden psychic underbelly of a city.
Idea For First Week's Story
Craft a story in 500-800 words about an "Emotion Devourer", a monster or vampire-like entity lurking in your city's hidden psychic underbelly maybe in a shadowy alley, a crowded markets, or what you feel digital haunts.
Mind it, this story doesn't crave blood but it feeds on raw human emotions such as fear from late-night streets, joy from festival crowds, rage in traffic jams. In short this being amplifies your city's secret emotional energy web.
Guidelines for Prompt:
Your object manipulates a lover's heartbreak to spark a psychic blackout.
Heroes hunt it through dream-haunted subways, risking their own feelings.
Or whatever you feel makes a good story!
I invite you to write, a story about a creature that survives not on blood, but on fear, grief, desire, envy, hope, or loneliness.
Remember you must add one secret layer of the city, a place that looks normal in daylight but feels haunted at night.
The monster can be a vampire, ghost, dependig on your choice.
The story should end with a twist: the creature may be hunting the city, protecting it, or being created by the city itself.
Note- Details in contest post if approved
Week 2- I have more ideas, like misheard lyrics, where Steemians will title a story with the lyrics of a misheard song, like turning "Excuse Me While I Touched This Guy" into a romantic mix-up. Regardless of whether the Steemian is male or female, they can write as they please.
Week 3- I have an idea where Steemians will use their dream logic, such as a protagonist navigating a dream world where physics is twisted, revealing real-life regrets. This is what will give Steemians unlimited ideas.
Week 4- I'll offer Steemians the opportunity to write multi-genre short stories of up to 1,000 words about crime, fantasy, or horror.
Week 5- I'll invite Steemians to write disguise or dare-type stories, where characters wear costumes or face truths or dare secrets.
Week 6- I have a unique idea that a librarian finds books that rewrite her past every time she reads them aloud, forcing her to choose between healing her regrets or embracing chaos.
I invite all Steemians, wordsmiths, and hidden geniuses! Ready to turn your wildest tales into viral magic? Join my "Fiction Frenzy Contest", where your imagination battles for glory, and eternal fame!
