Crypto for Venezuela
Far from the radars of worldnews a country and its people are struggling to survive. We are speaking of Venezuela. Paradoxically, this country is harboring among the biggest oil fields in the world. Nonetheless the economy is broken and people have great difficulties to find food to feed their children.
This video from france.24 shows the extent of the misery in Venezuela:
A little help
Christmas is a time to share and to help. Instead of donating money to charities that send us letters to our mailbox, I decided to use the power of steem to help some people in Venezuela. I have been inspired by @crypto.piotr who started an action to help 8 people from Venezuela to have a nicer Christmas.
Using Steem to help some people from Venezuela
I wanted to help these people in a sustainable way and I believe that I have found a solution thanks to steem. I invested what I had planed to donate to charities into Steem and created this account @help.venezuela. I also plundered some accounts of my faucet website to fund this account. To start I managed to collect 750 Steem Power which represents around 0.02$ upvote at the moment.
The purpose of it this account is to upvote steemit posts of people from Venezuela. On steemvoter, I created automatic upvotes for these people:
@juanmolina, @hendersonp, @reinaldoverdu, @roronoa07, @fucho80, @jenina619, @jadams2k18, @lanzjoseg
Whenever they post something on steemit, they will get an automatic 100% upvote from @help.venezuela.
Steemvoter settings for @help.venezuela
Trying to make it sustainable
Thanks to how steemit works, the Steem Power of this account won't decrease and it will be able to provide upvotes to these people for a long time. In order to ensure that these people profit even when they do not write any posts. I will sell the upvotes of @help.venezuela on smartsteem whenever voting power is above 95%. Like that the sold upvotes will increase the Steem Power of the account over time and in return the upvotes will become more significant.
Will some cents help these people?
Of course the value of an upvote of this account is at the moment rather limited. I don't believe that these people will be able to eat thanks to these upvotes. I won't be able to make a difference just by myself but I will give you ideas in further articles how you can contribute to make this project grow.
The aims - Increase to upvote value and increase the number of people to help
The first aim I have is to increase the Steem Power of this account so that the upvotes will be more consequent. Later on I would like to extend the help to more people. I hope that by helping a few people with some additional steem, this will have a positive impact on the people around them, their families, but also the people they make business with. Cryptocurrencies seem at the moment the only way to store value in this country.
Who is behind this project
I understand that with all the scams out there, nobody is willing to just give money away. I am @achim03. I've been running a website that gives free cryptocurrencies to people for more than 4 years. I have distributed an accumulated value of more than 5 BTC over this time period to users all over the world. Thanks to income from ads I always managed to cover the costs. I have also created some free courses where I show people how to make money with crypto currencies. For me cryptocurrencies are a way to help others in a sustainable way.
How can I know whether this project is legit?
When you check https://steemd.com/@help.venezuela you will always be able to see the progress of this account. The Steem Power and the upvotes that are given.
How you can contribute
Steemit offers many possibilities to help:
- follow @help.venezuela
- resteem this post
- upvote this post
- give a comment
- set an automatic upvote to @help.venezuela on steemvoter
- delegate some steem power to @help.venezuela
I am working on more ways how you can support this project and help people in Venezuela. I will write about them in future posts.
Thanks for the donations
- @achim03 (150 steem)
- www.ref-hunters.ch (620 steem)
Thank you friend, you have no idea of the great help you give us all, every penny is earning a lot of us are so in steemit since in many cases our needs a small part is covered with steemit. Here in Venezuela there are users who buy us the coins to have food in our home, I am interested in how to earn BTC I find it interesting, as I have to work hard these days then I will visit your site to learn more.
On behalf of my daughters and my wife we are very grateful for your support. I also particularly help all Venezuelans that I can.
In my blog I have three daily dynamics for the proposal of other writers, and so among us we also support each other.
I hope with all heart that you have a happy Christmas and a prosperous year 2019
Hi @lanzjoseg,
I'm really happy to be able to help you. Even if it is only with a couple of pennies. If you are interested in getting some free BTC, I have built an e-mail course as to how to do it. You can joint this course for free.
I wish you a very happy christmas!
Best regards,
Achim
Wow this is a great help tool for my brothers, which will undoubtedly help them to cope with the bad economic situation that our country is going through, I hope you can also help more people.
Hi @darthgexe,

Thank you:-). Happy Christmas !
Thankyou very much for doing this great work that for sure will great help us among the time to improve our lives.
Situation on Venezuela is very critical, people searching for food in trash(including myself), even when i live on a condo. Is cery hard, today we use to celebrate christmas but on my case i dont have the food, drinks, or other relative stuff for celebrate tonight. I just have 1 potato and 25 gr of beans, that is my xmas dinner tonight.
I pray that powerfull people on steemit take care of this situation(maybe some powerfull whales or dolphins) and give us Venezuela people a hand and support on this .
Thanks from my heart achim, hope the country saves these obstacles soon and all of us can be good.
Happy holidays.

Thank you very much dear @help.venezuela. God bless you. The "Niño Jesus" visited me.!
Great idea for sure.
Of course every penny worth my friend. Even you thought to help people is the great thing. Now a days people only think about their problems their benefits and all.No one have to time to think about others. I wish you will get more power to help people.
I checked the video you mentioned in post and I can say we even can't imagine how they are surviving in all this. I will try my best to support all the way I can like you and @crypto.piotr done.
Hi @flash07,
Thank you very much for your comment and your nice words!
Best regards,
Achim
Excelente apoyo a los venezolanos
Hi @achim03, great to hear of this initiative of yours which has been inspired by @crypto.piotr. I am following ten (10) Venezuelans (the 8 you have mentioned plus another 2). I will mention the other 2 here and hope you could add them to your list as well. They are @aniita and @freddyjimenez. I am sure there are many more we haven't discovered. I will support your initiative in every way possible for me. Blessings.

Hi @devann,
Thank you very much for your comment and your support. Thank you also for the names that you provided. I will put them on a waiting list and add them as soon as possible.
I will try to provide tools how to help this project in the near future.
Best regards,
Achim
I seriously love to see how responsive you are dear @achim03
Cheers! :)
Thanks you @help.venezuela,
greetings from Caracas-Venezuela
hi @achim03 and @help.venezuela
This is indeed great initiative @achim03. Thank you for sharing link to this publication with me.
I personally wish you would contact me earlier on and we could discuss this topic together and post it slightly later. That would allow me to promote your post and bring some traffic to it. It's very difficult to achieve that 'last minute'. Especially now since Im in the middle of my own support charity event.
I will delegate 100 SP to this account within few days. Im planning to buy some more STEEM after new year. And I hope we can find ways to work closer together my dear friend. In the future of course :)
Yours
Piotr
Hi @crypto.piotr,
I'm sorry I didn't consult with you to build this project. It was a sudden idea and I understand that you have a lot to do with your own charity. I wonder how you manage to deal with all the comments that you get to your posts ;-).
I would gladly work closer together with you in 2019!
Best regards,
Achim
Let's do this! Cheers @achim03 :)
