When I first shared about the children in our school, I told part of their story.
But today, I feel I should tell you the truth more fully.
Because behind their quiet smiles is a reality that is difficult to ignore.
These three children no longer have their mother.
She struggled for a long time with mental illness, doing her best to raise them in the midst of her condition. But sadly, she passed away, leaving the children behind.
Now, they live with their elderly grandparents.
Both are weak and often unwell.
And in that small home, five people share one bed.
Yes… one bed.

WHAT I SAW

When I visited their home, I stood quietly for a moment.
The house is small and worn.
The bed — the only one — is where the grandparents and the children all sleep together.
There is little space.
Little comfort.
But somehow, they continue.

STILL THEY COME TO SCHOOL
Every day, these children come to school.
Not because life is easy.
But because they still believe in something better.
At school, they find:
A place to sit
A meal when available
A moment of peace
But when the day ends, they return to the same difficult conditions.

WHY THIS STORY MATTERS
This is why the dormitory we are trying to build is not just a project.
It is a necessity.
It would mean:
A safe place for children like these to sleep
A stable environment for learning
Relief for struggling grandparents
The cost remains $15,000.
To us, it is a very big step.
But stories like this remind me why we must try.
