A Day with @gtpjfoodbank
The @gtpjfoodbank Team
A Day of Blessings
I feel blessed to bless others. In the past recent weeks and months, God has really brought along people into my life as my partners and I venture into two new businesses. Starting a business is never easy as we are fresh from the corporate world. We've no experience whatsoever running our businesses because we've been in the advertising and media industry for far too long now, but God was amazing enough to bring along people with tons of experience into our midst to share their life lessons and experiences running a business.
In just the month of March, My partners and I have made priceless connections with top tier people who are interested in what we're starting. Oh and before that, My partners and I are starting two businesses, mostly to do with agricultural and one is a NGO(non-government organisation). More details on it will come soon but the whole point of this post here today is to share the day I spent helping one of our collaborators, the @gtpjfoodbank.
The @gtpjfoodbank is run and managed by two 'wonderwoman', @fusion.lover and @littlenewthings which aims to provide daily necessities to the less fortunate. They're being aided by @fundition and the steem blockchain to further expose this good cause and every SBD and Steem would be put to good use for charitable purposes. That is how my two businesses will come hand in hand in collaboration with them but as I mention, more details on all these soon. We would probably opt to use @fundition platform as well!
So if any of you have any guides on how to apply or send in a pitch entry to @fundition, do let me know in the comments below.
@sam.hsuu
We got there pretty early, at about 10am last Saturday. The foodbank has once helped out with a Steem charity organized by @bitrocker2020 and @teammalaysia to donate necessities to orphanages in Malaysia before. So I pretty much knew where the storage area was.
When I got there, I saw that there were tons of volunteers that day. @littlenewthings told me that it was pretty inconsistent on the attendance. Sometimes there were too many, sometimes there were too few. On Saturday, it was plenty and we got done with packing about an hour later. I helped with a small task together with @sam.hsuu. We moved and packed Kellogg's Cornflakes in different quantity in a box for different orphanages.

Rows and rows of month supplies for families
@littlenewthings did mention that in the past few months, the donation has been scarce. There were fewer and fewer donors but at the end of the month when it was ready for packing, the storage had just enough for the families. It was truly amazing to see the food go out to these families. Always a good feeling to know that the items will be used by someone out there who actually needs it.
It was definitely a humbling moment for me and my partners. For me, I honestly do not know how it feels like to be starving or lack of anything because I'm glad that I'm living in a family that is well off. I am very blessed and if I wanted anything, I could have it. But these are the families that may not ever get to have such 'luxuries' of life.
That is why, my second business which is coming up would be in hopes to help these lower income group in Malaysia survive and to actually build a life for their families. I've been blessed throughout my life so it is about time to give back. It wouldn't cost me anything but it would mean everything to them.
Have a blessed week.
Thank You

Man this is amazing to see! We have the ability to essentially print money here on Steem, nothing better than seeing our intentions finding results in reality benefiting those less fortunate 🙌

Agree! I started Steem without a single cent. Just creating content got me this far!
You’re very lucky to find that success without having to put any money in.
Essentially for me to get credibility with the people that I was trying to engage with I needed to bring my wallet up over 1000 steem power. After that everything has been golden, the growth I made in my first 6 months was surpassed by my next week going from 1k SP to 2k SP. Been averaging 500-1000 SP a month since 👌
Proof is in the pudding, investment based platform is easiest navigated with investments.

Amazing work. Wish your project all the success possible.
That's the good thing when a country works with relative normalcy and individual citizens and groups can put their resources and talents to the service of those in need.
I have quite a few projects, but i', on the verge of becoming a recepient of charity instead. It's hard to run any of these initiatives when you are also in need.
That being said, I plan to have another reading children's book in poor neighborhood session next week. We'll see how that goes.
We're truly happy to have you and @sam.hsuu to come along for our monthly food packing.
Even if it looks like there were a lot of people there but the number of people were just nice as everyone had their post and got the job done faster.
Sorry for your paper burns though. This is part and parcel of the joy and pain that comes along with this "sacred duty" 😁
Looking forward to see you again! Thanks for coming over!
Best Regards,

This is a great venture. Too many people need help and there are too few willing to lend a hand, so it is always good to hear of new initiatives like this. I recently heard of a non-profit in the States that delivers unserved banquet food to those in need. In the past, the food was just thrown away, but now some needy people are getting 4 star meals when people who sign up for banquets don't show up.
Congratulations @zord189! You received a personal award!
