Shaoguan at night / bei Nacht
These pictures are from 10 years ago. Nowadays you don't see so many colourful lights anymore, perhaps because of environmental considerations, more probably for financial reasons. Shaoguan is not a rich city. Although they have a nice landscape (pics for another post, probably) around there, not too many tourists find this place.
/ Diese Bilder sind 10 Jahre alt. Heutzutage sieht man nicht mehr soviel farbige Beleuchtung, vielleicht wegen ökologischer Erwägungen, wahrscheinlicher wegen finanzieller Gründe. Shaoguan ist keine reiche Stadt. Obwohl die dortige Landschaft sehr interessant ist (Bilder für einen anderen Post), finden nicht viele Touristen diesen Ort.
Anyway, 10 years ago Shaoguan still had some interesting lighting in the streets. Pretty much all bridges (there are several, since 2 rivers meet in Shaoguan) had light shows, not only static lights.
/ Wie auch immer, vor 10 Jahren gab es in Shaoguan noch diese nette Beleuchtung. So ziemlich alle Brücken (gibt einige, da sich dort 2 Flüsse treffen) hatten Lichterspiele, nicht nur statische Beleuchtung.

The squares where people would dance in the evening had also some interesting (& definitely wasteful) lighting:

If you go to Shaoguan around Chinese New Year, you will still find night lights as seen above & you will also see some special new year installations, like this dragon:
Wenn man Shaoguan zum chinesischen Neujahrsfest besucht, wird man auch heute noch die oben gezeigten Lichterspiele sehen & daneben auch noch spezielle Neujahrsinstallationen wie diesen Drachen:
