Mao Zedong Essay

in #china6 years ago

In 1949, communism had taken over China under the leader Mao Zedong. Mao led his people for multiple decades and showed little mercy in doing so. Mao liked seeing people in pain and suffering. He also killed millions of people through his communist ideas whether he directly had them executed, or indirectly killed them. Finally, Mao brainwashed his people removing their independence, creativity, and freedom, and replaced it with fear. Mao can be described as one of the most evil human beings who ever walked planet Earth.
Evil is a loose term with many different definitions from person to person. Somewhere in anyone’s definition has to be that the evil being likes to hurt people emotionally or physically. Mao Zedong did both of these things. The video described how Mao Zedong felt some sort of “ecstasy” when he watched people suffer. This wasn’t foreigners he wanted to feel pain, but his own people. One example of Mao’s torture was the “Tiger Bench” in which he would watch people who “opposed him,” suffer as their knees snapped backwards. Mao also gave his second in command, Liu Shaoqin, a slow and painful death after he acknowledged the reverse productivity of the Great Leap Forward, and specifically the famine resulting from this event. Mao deprived Liu of treatment for his diabetes and had a video made of the slow death for his personal pleasure. Mao enjoying other people’s pain brings forth his true sadistic mind.
Ranking number 10 on HowStuffWorks Health’s ten worst ways to die is to starve to death. Mao indirectly caused over 14 million people to die this way. Mao took away his people’s rights and freedoms like owning land and the crops they produce when he made China into a communist nation. He made all the production the state’s property and the farmers weren’t guaranteed to eat every day (if they didn’t meet their daily quota). Also, not just the farmers weren’t all getting food, but even other people too. The farms became collectivized and as a part, they became huge lands. The stagnation years before caused not the right technology for farming a huge are like this, so a lot of the food goes to waste. Mao’s ideas caused millions of people to starve, thus showing his evil.
Through brainwashing the people, Mao got everything he wanted. Mao took away the people’s freedoms and individuality by brainwashing his people. Mao scared his people into doing what he wanted. Probably the most significant of all of the brain wash was his “Red Guard” which were many of the youth he made his personal army to do his bidding. He made the youth kill their elders like teachers who were accused of teaching things against Mao. Mao didn’t want any ideas other than communist in the nation, so by eliminating the people who experienced both nationalism and communism, he could avoid that. Brain wash was an evil thing for Mao to do because he stripped people of everything because they didn’t want to die. He made millions upon millions of people live their lives in fear.
Mao Zedong rose from the “Long March” and came into power as the first communist leader of China. He tortured his people with joy; anyone who opposed him. Mao allowed millions of his people to die a very painful death of starvation. Finally, Mao brain washed his people making them afraid to do wrong which could very possibly result in death, or Mao’s famous “Tiger Bench” or another torture tactic. All in all, Mao was evil for the things he did as the leader of China, especially in his brain wash, allowing his people to die, and in liking to see human beings suffer.
