I believe this piece of "current situation map", we all read in the history textbook. In the late Qing Dynasty, the powers looked around and the country was precarious. This picture vividly conveyed the current situation in China.
However, very few people may have noticed the author of "Current Affairs Map" and the first airship designer in Chinese history. His name is Xie Tai Thai.
In 1899, the Chinese designed their first airship.
The designer was born in Sydney, Chinese overseas Xie Xie Tai, he named it "China" to express his patriotic enthusiasm.

The airship in China at the time can be said to be unprecedented, the main body of aluminum material, driven by the motor propeller rotation forward, there are three timing control of the powerful deck thrusters, the use of automatic retractable steel wings to reduce resistance.
Notable is the side marked "CHINA", the tail also hung a banner - the big yellow flag Qinglong.
After the success of the design, Xie Yutai enthusiastically presented the drawings to the Qing government and pledged to mass-manufacture the first Chinese air force. However, there was no feedback from the Qing court.
Without the support of the government, the manufacture of the airship turned into a bubble, and Xie Taotai was frustrated.
In desperation, he sought help from British friends, the design plans and programs sent to the United Kingdom.
In 1910, the airship designed according to his current plan was exhibited at the London Expo that year, except that it was no longer named "China".
That is, at the beginning of the year, Xie Taitai finally made a 4-meter, 1.7-meter-airspace airship over a large balloon with his own strength and succeeded in the test flight, making China one of the earliest countries to own airships.
To achieve this dream, Xie Tantai spent ten years.
