Devoted wholeheartedly! 🤗

in #christian-trail7 years ago (edited)

Devotion is a word we use to describe participating in a short Bible study and discussion. Like this one here on steemit. The word devotion is also used to describe our attitude that drives us to seek God. It's something we put our time and energy into wholeheartedly.

We only dedicate our time and energy to the things, people, and ultimately God because we make those a priority in our lives.

What things are we letting crowd out our time and energy from truly seeking God wholeheartedly?

I pray each of us turns our hearts back to our first love. To the One who first loved us, with our whole hearts.

God bless!

Nice post coolbowser!

I like what you said here:

"We only dedicate our time and energy to the things, people, and ultimately God because we make those a priority in our lives."

It's interesting because when we love others, we do dedicate our time to them. The two examples you used are the two greatest commandments, "Love God with all your heart mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself."

When we have children, because we love them, we dedicate most of our time to them especially when they're little. With our spouses, we want to know everything there is to know about them, so we dedicate our time to knowing about them.

With God it's the same. We love Him, and we should want to spend as much time as we can seeking to know as much as we can about Him. He knows us through and through. Although I don't think that we can fathom the love that God has for us. We can surely love Him with all our hearts and seek to know Him more and more.

Sometimes life can be very busy, but I personally think that it's important to take time out each day to spend in prayer. It's sometimes the most peaceful part of a busy day, and I think doing that refreshes us.

And I like that you brought up this topic, it's a good thing to think about. God bless.

Thank you!🤗

The giver is more than the gift; God is more than the blessing. And our being kept waiting on Him is the only way for our learning to find our life and joy in Himself. Oh, if God’s children only knew what a glorious God they have, and what a privilege it is to be linked in fellowship with Him, then they would rejoice in Him! Even when He keeps them waiting, they will learn to understand better than ever. ”Therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you.” His waiting will be the highest proof of His graciousness.

Thank you Andrew. I appreciate that.
