1 John 1:2-3

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us:

and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Maintain Constant Fellowship

From the book of Beginning, it is clear that the Father has always intended to remain in constant fellowship with His own. When you read such things as the ‘voice of God came walking in the cool of the day’, an expression that suggests it was not a one-time thing, but something routine.

The Father’s heart reaches out each moment for His children (those with His life) and for His creation (those without His life). However, a further study will also show that the hindrance between Man and His God, was Man’s sin.

When God came to Adam in the garden, He couldn’t find His Man. Adam, hide himself from God, because he had done something he shouldn’t, and had reaped the repercussion.

Today, it might not be the question of sin that drives a wedge between you and the Lord. It might be simple cares and desires, such as; goals, objectives, a career obsession, or possessions, bills, health issues, economic situation etc. The list is endless but these things should not take us away from the Lord, rather push us towards Him.

Navigating our course through this maze called 'Life' is complicated on its own. When one factors in the unreliable nature of some men into the equation, it becomes clear that we each need a trustworthy guide. One who tells nothing but the Truth irrespective! Only the Lord, the Holy Spirit does that consistently all the time, without fail.

Prayer is the one sure way to maintain fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Prayer and not a recitation but the outpouring of the soul, with true emotions, to a loving Father. Jer 29:12-13 says

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

He wants all of our heart's attention not just a portion of it.
