THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING.
Psalm 136:1-3 NIV
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.
Thanksgiving is an expression of gratitude in acknowledgement of a favour received from God. It is an act of appreciation for what God had done in our lives. Thanksgiving is an important concept in the life of the Christians. It is a way of showing and his magnanimous He is and how powerful He has shown Himself in our lives.
Luke 17:11-19 NIV
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance
13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”
19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
Ten lepers were healed by Jesus Christ but only one came back to say "Thanks You!" and the Lord took very significant notice of it.
This gave me another dimension to the statistics of human gratitude that only 10% are grateful for whatever God has done for them.
Thanksgiving is supposed to be an important part of a Christian Life because the more you thank God, the more he blesses you

Also helpful, is to get on your knees in a private place when giving thanks and praying to God.
