GIVE IT A TRY

I had heard enough, I needed to experience it myself.
They said she was tough, and the picture seemed very rough.
Maybe, it’s their demeanor, but what if that’s her nature?

To appear unique, I did away with all antique.
I tamed my tongue, and practiced Godliness for long.
My friends knew me no more, it was to them, an eye-saw.
I finally gained sanctity so I veered to meet Charity.

On seeing her, I said within ‘’ so the stories are for once true’’
There were many waiting to meet her but I skipped the queue
She was a virtuous damsel, pure virgin and no sin to measure
More valuable than fine jewel, worth more than a treasure.
Meeting her at the well even rang in my heart a bell.
We clicked on well so I made my promise to this pearl.
She gave me her word, on condition I abstained from the world:
Please me in total righteousness and live your life for me in pure holiness.
I can be jealous, so don’t try me if you are not serious.
If you please me awhile, I would unveil onto you my lovely smile.

She is beautifully adorable, in fact I say she is enjoyable.
Her presence is desirable but she hates evil.
And that’s what seems painful, because, sin is very tasteful.
She is spotless and never in any kind of mess.

Nevertheless, with zeal I found favour, and grace made me able.
I never broke her heart, but rather I won her love. Ooo what a fulfilment I now have.
Tis how huge the reward for holiness can be
She would rather die, than not to marry me.
