Hey @digit
How are you doing? Hope your good.
You know, while I was looking at your post just now, and a popular hymn dropped in my mind. I'm sure you know this hymn but there are some things I wish to extract from it in relation to your post.
Firstly, let me agree hymn writer that there's none a friend like a lowly Jesus, no not one. But often time I hear people including myself say, "This is my best friend and the first true friend I've meet so far"
Such a heart and hormone boosting comment you would say. But when I probe further to know who's such friend that merits such comment, it's always our husband, wife, fiance or fiancee or even or children and known acquaintances, and NOT JESUS. hmmmmmmmm, its a choice, but you what such friends most times break our hearts and make us reconsider our earlier confession(s).
RHETORICAL QUESTIONS
Can't we long to be faithful and remain same so that we can through our faithfulness invite Jesus Christ is is still standing outside, to come into our hearts and home?
Shall we then break the foundations of trust and betray our old friends just because we found new human friends?
I would have love to go further but lemme return to my post because of that friend JESUS.
My prayer this night is that Jesus would help us know what friendship is and to choose HIM FIRST as our BEST.
Bless you.
